One month after exiting the boy band, is all set to kick off a brand new chapter in his singing career.
Yes, you read that right. The multi-hyphenate singer has unveiled a new step he has taken by unveiling a new artistic identity under the name Evan. The move came on April 8, when he quietly launched his new social media accounts and shared a series of photos that immediately set the tone for what lies ahead.
Lee Heeseung launches social media accounts under new stage name after ENHYPEN exit
The pictures shared by Heeseung on his social media handle feel intentionally toned down. One can notice a lack of heavy styling and no dramatic concept, just a softer, more unguarded version of him. The idea, as explained by BELIFT LAB, is to present Evan in his most natural state before expectations or labels begin shaping how he is seen. It’s less about reinvention and more about starting from a blank page.
Alongside the visuals, Heeseung opened up about the meaning behind the name Evan. It’s not something newly created for the stage but a name he has held onto since childhood. According to him, it carries personal memories and a sense of comfort. Choosing it now feels deliberate, a way to reconnect with a more honest version of himself and share that through music.

On Heeseung’s career with ENHYPEN
For fans, this shift doesn’t come out of nowhere. Since debuting in 2020 as part of ENHYPEN, Heeseung has steadily built a reputation as one of the group’s most musically versatile members. His vocals have always stood out for their range and control, while his stage presence has carried a certain quiet intensity. Over time, he’s also taken on a more active role behind the scenes and has contributed to songwriting and production. Tracks like Highway 1009 and Dial Tragedy gave a glimpse into his creative instincts. Both the tracks are noted for their emotional depth and layered sound.
Soon after the K-pop star’s Instagram handle, scores of fans flooded the comments section with heartfelt messages. They even showed support by writing messages like “We Love You Evan,” and many congratulated the K-pop star on starting the new chapter in his singing career.

What we know about ENHYPEN?
The band ENHYPEN was initially introduced as a 7-member group in 2020 under the former joint venture between CJ ENM and HYBE through the survival competition show I-Land. As for the name, ENHYPEN symbolises connection – resembling the hyphen that bridges words in a sentence. It was adapted to show the members from different backgrounds joining forces to grow and connect with fans.
Going forward, after Heeseung’s exit, ENHYPEN will have six members, Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki.
