Ahead of Independence Day, a temporary ban on the entry of heavy vehicles in Delhi has been imposed. Based on the instructions received from Delhi Police, Sonipat Police has issued a detailed route diversion and check point plan.
Police have appealed to all heavy vehicle drivers, including trucks, trailers, dumpers, tankers, to use alternative routes within the stipulated time period, so that the traffic remains smooth and the security arrangements of the Independence Day celebrations are not affected.
The ban will be implemented in three phases
-First, from August 10 at 8 pm to August 11 at 1:30 pm.
-Second, from August 12 at 8 pm to August 13 at 1:30 pm.
-Third, from August 14, 8 pm to August 15, 2 pm, till the end of the programme.
Route diversions
There will be strict monitoring on the borders of the district under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Police. Police station HSIDC will set up check posts near Badi Ganaur Chowk and Kali Mata Temple and divert vehicles towards Ganaur city and Gohana.
Police station Murthal will stop heavy vehicles going towards Delhi from Kurad bypass and divert them towards Sonipat or Kurad bypass.
Police station Rai will set up check posts on NH-44, KMP/KGP and service roads and will divert heavy vehicles towards Meerut-Baghpat and will make parking arrangements near Ashoka University.
Police station Kundli will stop people from going towards Delhi by setting up check posts on the Drain No 8 flyover and the Jatin-Sersa road.
The traffic police will keep vigil at all important places from MurthalHaldana Border to Kundli Border, including 334-B, Kurad or Gohana Bypass, KGP, KMP.
On the instructions of the headquarters, routes have been diverted keeping in view the security. This will continue till the Independence Day program to be held in Delhi. – Mamta Singh, Police Commissioner
