Red Alert in Himachal: Incessant heavy rains in many states of North India have spoiled the situation. Rivers are in spate in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Due to flooding of water, there are long jams on the roads, due to which people are having hours of difficulty in reaching home. The Meteorological Department has now issued an alert for heavy rain in many districts once again. The water level of Yamuna river in Delhi has gone above the danger mark, which has increased the risk of floods.

Flood threat increased in Delhi

Things are also deteriorating in Haryana. The woman died after falling a house in Narnaund, while 30 villages were hit by waterlogging due to the rise of Ghaggar river in Fatehabad district. The continuous rains in Delhi have disturbed people. People were stuck in jam here for hours here. The water level of Yamuna in Delhi has reached above the danger mark. Water has entered the low -lying areas like Yamuna Bazaar and Monastery Market. About 15 thousand people have been shifted to safe places.

Flood havoc in Punjab

The condition of Punjab is the most serious. All 23 districts of the state have been declared flood -hit due to continuous water from Himachal. The water level of Bhakra Dam has reached 1677 feet, which is just three feet below the danger mark. Many villages are submerged and people are forced to go to safe places. Many people have died due to landslides in Kullu, Kasauli and Solan in Himachal Pradesh. Many avenues are closed and movement on national highways is interrupted. The Meteorological Department has warned that there may be more rain than normal in September.

Rivers rising water level in Bihar

Ganga, Budhi Gandak, Kosi and Bagmati rivers are flowing above the danger mark in Khagaria and Katihar districts of Bihar. The Ganges is flowing 147 cm above, which has created flood -like conditions in many villages. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rains in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Jammu and Punjab on Wednesday. There is a possibility of torrential rains in more than 50 districts including Prayagraj, Muzaffarnagar and Aligarh in UP.
