On Friday night, Bollywood actor Mukul Dev passed away in Delhi at the age of 54 after being unwell for the past few days. He was the brother of actor Rahul Dev.
Condolence messages poured in from his co-stars and members of the film fraternity, who took to their respective social media accounts to mourn his death.
Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Terribly sad. RIP Mukul ji.
Ajay Devgn, who starred alongside Mukulin Son of Sardaar and had reunited with him for Son of Sardaar 2, took to his Instagram Story to pen an emotional note. He wrote, “Still trying to process it…Mukul. It’s all too soon and suuden. You had a way of making everything lighter, even on the heaviest days. Om Shanti.”
Hansal Mehta, who co-wrote the film Omerta with Mukul Dev, mourned his loss, writing, “Heartbroken. Gutted. My dear friend gone too early, without notice…feel such a deep void and sadness. See you on the other side Mukul Dev.”
“Not done Mukul mere dost… so many more stories, so much more laughter. See you on the other side my dear friend,” he added on his Instagram post.
Actor Arshad Warsi also condoled Mukul Dev’s death, saying he was “heartbroken”. “I was really fond of him. He was a friend, colleague, a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. may his soul rest in peace,” he wrote on Instagram.
Sushmita Sen mourned the loss of her Dastak co-star Mukul Dev. She wrote, “Rest in peace you wonderful soul.”
Neil Nitin Mukesh expressed his condolences to Mukul’s family and tweeted, “Really upset with the sad news of dear Mukul leaving us so soon. A powerhouse performer and a lovely person. My deepest condolences to @RahulDevRising, @mugdhagodse267, and the entire family. God be with you all during these tough times.”
Sonu Sood wrote, “RIP Mukul bhai. You were a gem. Will always miss you. Stay strong @RahulDevRising.”
Mukul’s last rites will be held today at 5 PM in Delhi.
