Bengaluru: Following a spate of heart attack-related deaths, the private schools managements’ association has issued an advisory to parents and schools asking them to monitor digital and food habits of children.
The association also advised them to allow kids to go out and play and ensure children are physically active.
In a general advisory released to parents, the Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka has asked the parents to keep a watch on food habits of children and allow them to go out and play. “Parents should check on what kids are eating. Eating nutritionally poor food is affecting their health. There is a need to restrict digital gadget usage. It has become unrestricted nowadays,” reads the advisory released by the association.
The association has also appealed to the parents to take accountability and ensure daily physical activity at home. The schools must not entertain if children request exemption from physical education class, unless they have a medical issue.
