The risk of heart attack increases in the winter season. Cold affects the heart and blood vessels. Blood becomes thick due to cold. Many times the blood vessels shrink and due to lack of blood pumping in the heart and the supply of oxygen stops, there is a risk of heart attack.
People who are heart disease patients need a little more caution in winter. Senior cardiologist Dr. Saket Goyal has shared some precautions for heart patients by sharing a video on Instagram. By following which the risk of heart attack and stroke can be avoided in winter.
Heart doctor told that heart patients should take these precautions in cold
1) Do not go out of the house in the morning in cold weather. Dew falls between 5-6 am in the morning and one should not go out at this time. Go out only when there is mild sunlight.
2) If you are going out of the house, you should wear one layer more than the clothes you are wearing to protect yourself from cold. This layer maintains the temperature of the body.
3) Don’t eat a lot of food at once. Eat little by little throughout the day. Eating too much at one go increases the pressure on the heart. Therefore, take small meals throughout the day.
4) Thirst is less during winter days. Because of which many people forget to drink water. But you have to keep yourself hydrated and drink adequate amount of water.
5) If you drink alcohol to keep your body warm in winter, you may be at high risk of heart attack. If you drink alcohol in winter, there are more chances of your health deteriorating. Due to alcohol, there is a risk of heart beat increasing rapidly and the risk of heart attack increases.
6) Keep head and feet warm. Wear a warm hat on your head and warm socks on your feet. So that the body heat does not escape with the legs.
7) Get your blood pressure and heart checked in winter. If there is any kind of problem then the doctor changes the medicine and maintains the dosage. So that you remain safe.
