Hearing ability is decreasing after the age of 40, AIIMS doctor told the reason

Generally, many people have a habit of listening to things loudly on earphones or headphones. Some people use earphones the whole day. People who have to use them for work also often use them at loud volume, but this habit can lead to deafness.

Dr. Poonam Sagar, Assistant Professor of ENT Department at AIIMS, told TV9 Bharatvarsha that the use of earphones or headphones at loud volume can affect the ability to hear. In such a situation, people need to reduce the volume of these personal devices.

Hearing loss is affected by listening at high volume.

Many researches have revealed that if a person keeps the volume of his mobile device or other personal device more than 60 percent then he can become a victim of deafness. Dr. Poonam Sagar said that one should be very careful while using personal hearing devices. To avoid hearing loss, the device should be listened to at <60% of its maximum limit and a break should be taken after listening for approximately 60 minutes. People who follow this 60-60 rule have less risk of having ear related problems.

It is important to take breaks in between

Dr. Poonam said that the higher the noise level, the greater will be the risk of hearing loss. In such a situation, try to take a break after 60 minutes. Because if you continuously listen to something on headphones and do not take a break, it will definitely affect your ears. In such a situation, it is very important to take a break.

People are becoming deaf at young age

Dr. Poonam said that generally people hear less after 50 years or after this age the hearing ability of some people decreases. But nowadays it is being seen that hearing power is decreasing only after the age of 40. One reason for this is personal devices. Whose loud noise is reducing your hearing power.
