Health crisis in Kushinagar! 2 innocent children died in 24 hours, 5 children lost their lives in a week

Health crisis deepens in Nebua Naurangiya block of Kushinagar, stir due to death of five children in 7 days. Two innocent children died due to fever and cough, screening of 110 children. Panic among villagers, questions raised on health system. The administration increased surveillance by setting up camps.

Kushinagar: The continuous deaths of children in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh have put the entire area in panic. Two more innocent lives were lost in the last 24 hours. Now the situation is such that within a week five children have died and dozens are ill. Villagers are living in fear and anxiety, while serious questions have been raised on health systems.

Two innocent people lost their lives in Pipra Khurd Dalit colony.

In the Dalit colony of Pipra Khurd village, the health of 7 year old Sagar and 3 year old Ansh suddenly deteriorated. After first fever, then severe cough and tremors, the family kept rushing him for treatment. First, both of them died before being taken to the quack doctor, then to the community health center and finally to Gorakhpur Medical College. The villagers allege that the children lost their lives due to the negligence of the health department and not getting timely treatment.

Administration into action, medical camp set up in village

In view of the increasing cases, the health department has started a testing campaign in the village. So far:

  • Screening of 110 children
  • Serious and suspicious symptoms in 7
  • Continuous deployment of medical team

Along with this, special attention is also being given to cleanliness and quality of drinking water in the village.

DM said “situation under control”

Kushinagar District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar said:

  • Health checkup of more than 800 people has been done
  • Leptospirosis like symptoms were found
  • The disease does not spread from human to human
  • Continuous monitoring and treatment continues

The DM assured that the situation will not be allowed to deteriorate under any circumstances.

Questions raised on health system

The continuous deaths of children have forced one to wonder when the health facilities in rural areas will finally improve. The villagers allege:

  • lack of clean water
  • lack of fogging
  • abundance of quacks
  • Serious lack of treatment in CHC

People say that if the system had woken up in time, the lives of many children could have been saved.

Village in panic, demand for treatment and security

People in the village are worried that this disease should not spread further. The family members demand that the government pay special attention to the situation and provide permanent health solutions.
