Health Budget 2026 Ayurveda Products: Special focus has been laid on the health sector in Budget 2026. The Finance Minister has made big announcements regarding new AYUSH Institute, All India Ayurveda Institute etc. to strengthen the Ayurveda industry.
Finance Minister Sitharaman presented the 9th Union Budget in Parliament on 1 February. In the budget, special attention has been given to health and Ayurveda industry. The Finance Minister has announced the creation of new AHP (Affordable Housing in Partnership) institutions in private and government sectors. To strengthen the AYUSH sector, it was said to create 3 new All India Ayurveda Institutes. Know what special announcements were made regarding health in Budget 2026.
What will be the benefit of increasing AYUSH institute?
AYUSH institutions include government and recognized institutions where treatment is provided through traditional Indian medical systems. Besides, educational research is also done in such institutions. Here various diseases are treated using Ayurvedic, Homeopathy, Unani and Siddha methods.
Medical courses like BAMS, BHMS, BUMS are also offered in AYUSH Institute. Here, research is done on new medicines, Ayurvedic products as well as various types of therapies. People are also given medicines related to meditation, yoga, panchakarma and naturopathy in AYUSH institutions. In such a situation, setting up new AYUSH institutes by the government will prove to be a big step. With the formation of new institutions, not only will awareness about Ayurvedic treatment increase among people, but different types of new medicines will also be available.
Special announcement regarding Ayurveda in the budget
- To strengthen the AYUSH sector, 3 new All India Ayurveda Institutes will be created.
- New AHP institutions will be created in government and private sector.
- One lakh AHPs will be connected to the system in the next 5 years.
- 5 regional medical centers will be established.
- AYUSH pharmacy and drug testing laboratories will be upgraded.
- WHO Global Center for Traditional Medicine at Jamnagar will be upgraded.
- Drug testing laboratories will be upgraded.
- The quality of AYUSH pharmacy will be increased.
Professionals will increase in veterinary field
The Finance Minister has also made big announcements to promote the veterinary sector. Along with increasing the number of professionals in the veterinary field, capital subsidy will be given to promote veterinary medicine in the private sector. 1.5 lakh care service providers will be trained.
