‘He Was Certainly Very…’: What Shashi Tharoor Said On PM Modi Meeting Op Sindoor Delegation Members

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met with members of the Operation Sindoor delegation, who had recently returned from their official visits abroad.

Describing the meeting as “pleasant,” senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor noted that the Prime Minister took time to personally thank the delegations for their service, spending over an hour conversing with various groups.

“He was certainly very pleasant to all of us. He saw this as an opportunity to thank the delegations for their service, and he was very pleasant and spent more than an hour with all of us. He walked around the lawn to different tables, talking to different groups of people,” Shashi Tharoor said after the meeting.

“It wasn’t a formal meeting at all. It was a good, lively, informal meeting. We all shared many things with him, and with time, it will be apparent. A general proposition I noticed was that every country said it was a very good idea for Members of Parliament to visit them. We all suggested that we should make this a practice more often. The PM certainly seemed to take that idea onboard,” Tharoor added.

Members of the various delegations who represented India in different countries met the Prime Minister at his official residence on Tuesday evening. During the meeting, PM Modi commended the delegations for their dedication in advancing India’s voice on global platforms.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Met members of the various delegations who represented India in different countries and elaborated on India’s commitment to peace and the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism. We are all proud of the manner in which they put forward India’s voice.”

As part of a broader diplomatic outreach, seven delegations visited 33 countries, engaging with policymakers, elected representatives, and international institutions. The delegations comprising parliamentarians (MPs) from various political parties, former MPs, and seasoned diplomats were tasked with conveying India’s firm stance against terrorism following Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
