Emmanuel Acho is done with Matt LaFleur after the Green Bay Packers lost to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. Acho believes LaFleur’s time as head coach is quickly running out.
The Packers head into the midweek game at Lambeau Field as the favorites after edging past the New York Jets in Week 2. The Falcons started their season with consecutive defeats.
But the Falcons arrived in Green Bay with renewed optimism because Michael Penix Jr. took over as quarterback after missing the first two games. Despite the home advantage, the Packers lost the game 35-14.
Quarterback Jordan Love threw 28 completions on 53 attempts for 312 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Matthew Golden caught 5 passes for 100 yards and 1 touchdown.
The Packers fell to 1-2. Emmanuel Acho blamed Packers’ head coach, Matt LaFleur for the defeat. The retired NFL linebacker on the latest segment of Speakeasy noted the LaFleur experiment has not worked.
He delivered three straight 13-win seasons to start his tenure because he had a future Hall of Famer, Aaron Rodgers, under center. Since Rodgers’ departure, the Packers have won 10+ games just once in four years.
He shouldn’t be on the hotseat; Matt LaFleur shouldn’t even have a seat.
Acho said on Speakeasy
Acho admitted that the Packers lack a running game. Josh Jacobs is unavailable as he’s on the .But that’s where the coach comes in with a blueprint to fix the problem, and Acho believes LaFleur has failed to do that.
Acho continued,
The Matt LaFleur experiment has come to an end… It had very high high’s at the beginning but we haven’t had high high’s last year and a half and now we are looking at the Packers team that just lost to the Falcons. I am disgusted by it and I am sure the Packers fans are too.
LaFleur was in the hot seat after the Packers’ exit from last year’s playoffs. But just before the start of the offseason, the Packers .LaFleur holds a 77-42-1 regular-season record and a 3-6 postseason record.
The Packers have always struggled to beat the Falcons. Yet they still held a slight lead over their NFC rivals.
But after the midweek result, the Packers are at serious risk of losing that overall advantage. The Packers are now 17-16 in this fixture.
LaFleur seemed to have no idea what happened in the game.
Got to try to figure out what we do well, and right now I don’t know what we’re doing well offensively.

Love, who has thrown for over 750+ yards in the first three games, backed up his coach. He believes it’s a temporary setback and they will bounce back as there are plenty of games left to play.
I always have confidence in Matt [LaFleur]. I have been with him for so long, and I have seen what we can do as an offense. I have seen what the highs look like.

But he also admitted they have yet to reach the highs and need a lot of work before the next game.
In Week 4, the Packers are hitting the road once again. This time, they are heading to the Bay Area to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are winless after two games.
