‘He is a complete looser’: Lalit Modi asks BCCI to ban LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka

New Delhi: Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi has slammed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka after his intense chat with skipper Rishabh Pant post the side’s loss on Wednesday night. LSG went down against Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets at the Ekana stadium in their opening fixture, starting their campaign on a poor note.

Goenka is known to be very much involved with his team before the matches and after the culmination as well, like many of his counterparts. But the LSG owner is also believed to go much overboard, with his team members especially the captain. Back in IPL 2024 season, a video of Goenka with then skipper KL Rahul went viral where the former was seen involved in a heated discussion with Rahul.

Goenka should be banned: Modi

The video quickly went viral with fans commenting on the aggressive behaviour of the franchise owner against the skipper. Something of similar sort was witnessed in the latest video featuring Pant where Goenka was seen to involved in a fierce discussion with him. Though what exactly happened between the two in unclear but people started making comments about the owner misusing his power against the players.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan was the first one to comment on the episode saying that: ‘One game into the tournament… no need for this.’ After him, Modi made a controversial remark calling Goenka a looser also saying that he should be banned by the BCCI.
