The Raja Saab Release Delay: Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab is one of the most-awaited horror comedies of the year. The film has faced several delays due to production uncertainty.
However, along with the trailer, the makers unveiled the release date, which is January 9, 2026. Earlier, The Raja Saab was slated to release on 5th December this year. Now, producer V. Vishwa Prasad has finally addressed the issue behind the film’s release delay. He has accused VFX supervisor, alleging that he was in extortion mode.
Reacting to The Raja Saab’s delay, Producer TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory told NDTV, “I can name a few people who really put us in trouble. I’ve already named one for Karthikeya 2, and another for The Raja Saab, who was really in extortion mode. He made us delay our movie because he didn’t do any of the work until October 2024. We were supposed to come in April 2025.”
Co-produced by People Media Factory, Karthikeya 2, starring Nikhil Siddhartha and directed by Chandoo Mondeti, was announced back in 2017, but also faced a long delay in release. It hit the theatres in 2022.
Prasad has blamed the VFX supervisor for the delay behind The Raja Saab. He added, “He didn’t work on a single shot and just kept everything with him, taking a monthly fee for his entourage and team. He threatened the director that he would quit if he said something. And this person has a habit of doing this. He was recently kicked out of SS Rajamouli’s film. Since he got busy with Pushpa 2, he didn’t do any of our work. Someday, I’ll show him what the fee is for his extortion.”

Prabhas will be seen in a dual role alongside Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt. He will be seen locking horns with Sanjay, who plays a negative role. Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is backed by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. In his signature style, Maruthi is set to bring a story of a young man facing financial struggles who returns to his ancestral property and uncovers dark secrets. The movie explores the themes of reality vs the supernatural world, with makers referencing Star Wars.
