HDFC Bank has made a big change in its savings account policies. Now, bank account holders will get only 4 free cash transactions every month. After this, a fee of Rs 150 will be charged on each additional transaction. This change has come into effect from 1 August 2025, and it will mainly affect customers who regularly make cash transactions. Along with this, the bank has also implemented new fees on its other banking services. According to the bank, this step has been taken with the aim of encouraging customers towards digital transactions, so that banking can be made more secure and convenient.
Reverse rules for cash transaction
HDFC Bank has made some important changes in its cash transaction policy. Earlier, where cash transactions up to 2 lakh rupees were free every month, now this limit has come down to only 1 lakh rupees. More important is that now customers will get 4 free cash transactions. After this, every additional cash transaction will be charged a fee of Rs 150.
Apart from this, if a customer makes more than Rs 1 lakh cash transaction a month, the fee will be calculated at Rs 5 per 1,000 rupees, the minimum fee of which will be Rs 150. This change can directly affect small and middle class customers, especially those who go to bank branches and deposit cash often.
No change in third party transaction
There has been no change in the bank’s third party transaction policy, that is, you can do cash transactions from someone else’s account, but its daily limit will remain at Rs 25,000. Additionally, if you deposit or withdraw money from the bank in the name of another, then the same fees will apply, which are on normal transactions. NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS will also apply new fees. Along with this, HDFC Bank has also changed the fee structure on other transactions. The fee on NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) transaction will now be followed.
