Ramsevak Singh (JDU) won the 2010 Hathua Assembly Election. He got 50,708 votes, while RJD’s Rajesh Kumar Singh got only 27,861 votes. That means the margin of victory was 22,847 votes. This election strengthened the hold of JDU and gave lead to NDA.
Hathua assembly elections 2015: Ramsevak Singh’s dominance again
Ramsevak Singh (JDU) also registered a landslide victory in the 2015 Hathua Vidhan Sabha Election. This time he defeated Mahachandra Prasad Singh of HAMS party. Ramsevak Singh got 57,917 votes, while Mahachandra Prasad Singh got 34,933 votes. The victory margin was 22,984 votes. The victory for the second consecutive time put JDU in a strong position.
Hathua Assembly Elections 2020: RJD returns
A major upset was seen in the 2020 Hathua Assembly Election. This time RJD’s Rajesh Kumar Singh won a landslide victory. He got 86,731 votes, while JDU’s Ramsevak Singh got 56,204 votes. The victory margin was 30,527 votes, which proved the strength of RJD.
Note: Three cases are pending against 12th pass RJD leader Rajesh Kumar Singh. His total movable and immovable assets are worth Rs 1.44 crore and he has outstanding dues of Rs 1.85 lakh.
