Has the Govt changed interest rates on PPF, SCSS, NSC for April-June FY27?

New Delhi: The government has kept interest rates unchanged for various small savings schemes, such as Public Provident Fund (PPF), Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS), National Savings Certificates (NSC) in its quarterly review meeting on March 31, 2026.

The government has not changed the interest rates on the above-mentioned schemes for the last eighth quarters. The interest rates for the government small savings schemes will be applicable for the April-June 2026 quarter.

“The rates of interest on various Small Savings Schemes for the first quarter of FY 2026-27, starting from April 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2026, shall remain unchanged from those notified for the fourth quarter (January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026) of FY 2025-26,” the finance ministry said in a notification.
