Sibal expressed concern over the disappearance of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and demanded Home Minister Amit Shah to make a statement about his hideout. Sibal said, “I had heard about the film ‘Missing Ladies’, but never heard of ‘missing Vice President’.”

Resigned from his post on 21 July

Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resigned from the post of Vice President on July 21, citing health reasons on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament. Many speculations were also made about his resignation. Opposition leaders claim that Dhankad was forced to resign.

Questions raised on the absence of Dhankar

Questioning the absence of Dhankad, Sibal said, “Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned on 22 July, and today is August 9, but we don’t know where he is. MP Sibal said that many of his political partners also could not contact Dhankhar. Referring to Kiran Rao’s film ‘Mapta Ladies’, he taunted that Dhankhar who was a supporter of the government, now the opposition has to protect them.

“The ministry should know where the former Vice President is”

Sibal asked, “Should we file a hebius corpus petition?” Questioning the Ministry of Home Affairs, Sibal said that the Ministry should know where the former Vice President is. He said, “His health was not good. Are he undergoing treatment somewhere? His family also did not say anything. India is a democratic country, such cases should be public.”

Referring to his personal relationship with Dhankar, senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal said, “He was a lawyer with me, we fought many cases. I am worried about him. It’s not right that I have to file an FIR.” He also wrote on X, “Where should he be told? Are he safe? Why is he not in contact? Amit Shah should know! He was our Vice President, the country should worry!”

Jagdeep Dhankhar became Vice President in August 2022

74 -year -old Jagdeep Dhankhar held the post of Vice President in August 2022. There was still two years left during his tenure. Jagdeep Dhankad had suddenly submitted his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu with immediate effect, citing health reasons. Dhankhar has recently conducted angioplasty in AIIMS, Delhi. Dhankad was stressed with the opposition several times during his tenure.
