Under the sports policy of the Haryana government, players are given cash incentives ranging from ₹51,000 to ₹6 crore. National sports medal winners will be honored in Gurugram on 9th February. There are 1500 sports nurseries in the state and the target is 36 medals under Mission Olympics 2036.
Chandigarh. Haryana Sports Minister Shri Gaurav Gautam said that the sports policy of the state is among the best policies in the country. Haryana is progressing rapidly in sports. The government gives cash incentives ranging from ₹51,000 to ₹6 crore to players who win national competitions or Olympic medals, which strengthens the financial condition of the players.
Gurugram Sports Event 9 Feb: National sports medal winners honored
A special ceremony will be organized at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram on 9 February to honor the players. In this program, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini will honor the medal winners of the 38th National Games (Uttarakhand). CM Cup-2025 will also be inaugurated in this program.
National Games Medal Winners: 48 Gold, 47 Silver and 58 Bronze players honored
In this ceremony, 48 gold, 47 silver and 58 bronze medal winners of the National Games will be honored. Besides, a total of 689 players and coaches will also be honoured. Indian women’s hockey star player and Padmashree award winner Savita Poonia will also be given special honour.
Sports Incentive Haryana: ₹709 crore to players since 2014
The Sports Minister said that since 2014, an amount of about ₹ 709 crore has been given to 16,970 players as cash rewards and incentives. In the year 2025-26 alone, assistance worth more than ₹ 109 crore has been given to 662 players.
Sports Nurseries Haryana: 1500 sports nurseries, 37 thousand players in training
To provide better training to the players, 1500 sports nurseries have been opened in the state, where more than 37 thousand players are practicing. Apart from this, applications have also been sought to open 500 new sports nurseries. In these nurseries, special attention is being given to improving the talent of the players.
Mission Olympic 2036 Haryana: Target to win 36 medals
Haryana Sports Department has set a target of winning 36 medals under Mission Olympics 2036. Keeping this goal in mind, necessary resources and plans for sports will be decided in the upcoming budget.
Sports Budget India: 33% increase in sports budget and stadium improvements
The Sports Minister said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased the sports budget by 33%. Sports stadiums are being modernized in Haryana at a cost of ₹114 crore, of which about 70% of the work has been completed. During this, senior officials of the sports department were also present.
