Delhi Alert Issured: All 18 gates of Hathnikund barrage have been opened due to rise in the water level of Yamuna river in Haryana. It was decided to open all the gates on reaching 1 lakh 5 thousand cusecs at 2 pm.
Yamuna Flood Alert: The Yamuna River has come in spate due to heavy rains in the mountains and the catchment area of the Yamuna River. 2 lakh 71 thousand cusecs of water is flowing in Yamuna on Hathnikund barrage. 5 thousand cusecs of water is also flowing in the river Som, a tributary of Yamuna. There is a possibility of heavy losses in Delhi due to this strong flow of weather and rainy season. According to RS Mittal, senior officer of the irrigation department, the water level of the Yamuna river may increase further in the coming time. Alert has been issued in the villages situated on the banks of Yamuna and people are being alerted by making money through sarpanches in the villages.
All 18 gates of Yamuna River opened
Water supply of UP’s eastern canal and Haryana’s western Yamuna canal has also been stopped. In view of the danger of floods, all 18 gates of the Yamuna river of the barrage have been opened. Of these, 15 gates are in Haryana and 3 gates in Uttar Pradesh. The rainy rivers have also caused heavy damage to fields and crops. The Som River, Pathala, Urjani and Nagal drain originating from the Shivalik hills are flowing on the boom. The water of these rivers has broken the shore and entered the fields and the crops of farmers are submerged.

People advise to visit safe places
Hafizpur, Yakubpur, Dasaura, Dasori, Urjani, Chuhadpur Khurd, Ledi, Rampur Jatan, Tihano, Baroli Majra, Khanuwala, Sherpur and Shahjahanpur have been completely submerged due to filling rain water. Due to this, farmers are expected to suffer heavy economic losses. Officers are advising people to stay in safe places and avoid going to the banks of the river. The villagers are being alerted from time to time so that there is no loss of life and property in any unexpected situation.
