Mumbai: Hartalika Teej is one of the most significant festivals for married Hindu women, observed with great devotion across India. Falling every year on the third day (Tritiya Tithi) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada, this festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Women observe a strict fast and perform puja seeking happiness, marital bliss, and the blessing of children.
The festival holds deep spiritual importance as it symbolises the union of Shiva and Parvati, often seen as the epitome of an ideal marriage. Devotees believe that performing the puja at the right time brings prosperity and ensures a long, harmonious married life. In 2025, Hartalika Teej will be observed with rituals that must be performed during specific muhurat timings.
