Harry Potter Director Chris Columbus DENIES Being Associated With Upcoming TV Series: Nothing Left For Me

Harry Potter director has no connection with the upcoming HBO series

During a conversation with Variety, Chris Columbus explained, “No, I’ve done it; you saw my version. There’s nothing left for me to do in the world of Potter. The great thing about it is that with the first, second, and third books, we wanted to do it all. We wanted to bring all of that onto the screen, and we didn’t have the opportunity. While further referring to the complete character development of the roles in the films, he said, “never made it into the film, we just didn’t have time to develop the character.”

About the upcoming Harry Potter show

The seven books of Harry Potter will now be adapted to one season of the TV series. In May, the OG trio cast was finalised with Dominic McLaughlin, playing the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton to play Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley.

After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there,” earlier said showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director Mark Mylod in a statement revealing the three actors.

HBO series is expected to hit the digital screens in 2027, with the cast currently shooting in England.
