Harry Brook Nightclub Fight: England’s white ball captain Harry Brook is currently in Sri Lanka, where his team had a spectacular victory in the first T20I on 30 January. But after the victory, a news came out which revealed that Harry Brook had lied about the incident of fight in the night club. Harry Brook admitted in an interview with BBC Sports last week that he had lied that there were no other players with him when the fight took place. He told that lie to save his fellow players. According to Brook’s latest statement given in the interview, fellow players were also with him. He just didn’t want him to get entangled in such a matter.

Wellington incident

This whole incident of fight in a night club is from Wellington. When Harry Brook went to New Zealand last year on his first overseas tour as England’s white ball captain, he had a clash with a nightclub bouncer before the third ODI to be held in Wellington on 1 November. At that time, Brook was released after giving a last warning along with a fine of Rs 36 lakh.

Why did Harry Brook tell such a big lie?

Now after 2 months, that incident is being mentioned again because in an interview given to BBC Sports last week, Brook admitted that he was not alone at the time of that fight. According to the Daily Telegraph, Josh Tung and Jacob Bethel may also come under investigation.

Brook said in the interview that now I do not want to go into the depth of what happened in Wellington. Yes, I would just like to say that other fellow players were also present there that evening. We all went out to eat together. Brook further said that he apologizes for his previous statement. His intention was simply to save his fellow players from getting into trouble. He did it just for their sake.

How did the fight start?

Harry Brook told about the incident that he was trying to enter the nightclub when the bouncer pushed him and then the fight started. According to Brook, he drank too much.

Brooke apologized for the incident before the Sri Lanka series and spoke about it publicly for the first time. He said that I still have to learn more about the off-field responsibilities that come with captaincy. I will try my best to grow in this area and become better personally and professionally.
