Harish’s father Ashok Rana also expressed his pain. He said that he had been fighting this matter in the court for the last three years. He said, “Which parent would want this for their son? But seeing his condition, we had to choose this path. Now he will be taken to AIIMS.” The father also told that Harish was very promising in studies and was a topper in Punjab University.
This incident is of the year 2013. At that time Harish Rana was studying in Chandigarh. During this time he fell from the fourth floor of his hostel. He suffered serious head injury in this accident. After this, Harish went into coma. Doctors had declared him 100 percent disabled. Treatment continued for several years, but there was no improvement in the condition.
Supreme Court allows withdrawal of medical treatment to 32-year-old Harish Rana, who has been in a vegetative state for the last 13 years with negligible hope of recovery.
