Star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against England due to a quadricep injury. Pandya is not part of the ongoing three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, where the Shubman Gill-led team secured an unassailable 2-0 lead after the first two matches.
Hardik remains a key player for India as the team builds toward the 2027 ODI World Cup under captain Shubman Gill. However, his latest injury has once again raised concerns over his fitness. The selectors and team management are expected to carefully manage his workload to reduce the risk of further injuries.
Hardik Pandya Ruled Out of England ODI Series Due to Injury
Jagran News journalist Abhishek Tripathi shared an important update on the fitness of Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli ahead of India’s tour of England. He stated that Hardik has been ruled out of the ODI series due to injury, while Kohli’s availability will depend on the result of a fitness test.
“Hardik Pandya is out of the ODI series in England due to injury. Virat Kohli’s fitness test will be held in England on June 22. After that, it will be known whether he will play in the ODI series against England or not,” Abhishek Tripathi wrote on X.
India could be without two of their most experienced players for the England ODIs. While Hardik has already been ruled out, Kohli must clear his fitness assessment before the selectors make a final decision on his participation.
