The child is the son of a person living in the area. He was locked in a freezer by a man named Mohammad Azad, who runs a car workshop in the area. Azad suspected that the child had stolen some items from his workshop, so he decided to ‘teach the child a lesson’.

The police have registered a case in this matter and arrested the accused. SHO Avneesh Kumar said, “The police took suo motu cognizance of the case and registered an FIR against the accused under section 170 (arrest to prevent cognizable offences) of the BNSS. Azad was caught on Tuesday and sent to jail.”
- He further said, “The accused runs a car workshop in the area. The child is also from the same locality. He suspected that the child had stolen items and wanted to teach him a lesson.”
