It is believed that by worshiping Lord Hanuman, all the sorrows and pains of life go away. It is also believed that those who worship and pray to Lord Hanuman are saved from the wrath of Shani Dev. Shani Dev does not trouble the devotees of Hanuman ji in any way. Why doesn’t Shani Dev do this? There is a mythological story behind it. Let us know.

According to the mythological story…

According to the mythological story, Shani Dev was proud of his powers, as he could harm anyone on whom he cast his evil eye. Once, Hanuman ji was sitting in the forest and chanting the name of Lord Ram, when Shani Dev passed by there. He saw Bajrangbali and thought of casting his evil eye on him, but his evil eye had no effect on Hanuman ji. This made Shani Dev angry and he challenged Pawan Dev’s son, but Bajrangbali remained immersed in meditation. Seeing that Hanumanji was ignoring him, he became even more angry. Shanidev said, “Now I am going to come in your zodiac sign.”

Hanuman wrapped Shanidev in his tail

Bajrangbali replied, “Go wherever you want. Let me worship the Lord.” Shanidev held Hanumanji’s hand, but Bajrangbali released his hand. Then Shanidev assumed a furious form and tried to hold Hanumanji’s other hand. This made Hanumanji angry, due to which Hanumanji also got angry.

Then Shanidev said to Hanumanji, “Even your Lord Ram cannot harm me.” Hanumanji’s anger increased further after hearing such things about his beloved deity. Then he started tossing Shanidev here and there, wrapped in his tail, due to which he got badly injured. Then Shani Dev realized that Hanuman ji is not a common monkey.

Shani Dev apologized and made this promise

Shani Dev sought help from all the gods, but no one came forward to help him. Then Shani Dev apologized to Hanuman ji and said, “I will never come even near your shadow.” Then Hanuman ji asked for a promise from Shani Dev that he would never trouble his devotees. Shani Dev made this promise. Since then, it is said that Shani Dev does not trouble the devotees of Hanuman ji.
