– In a village, a woman used to spend her life by selling cow’s milk and curd. One day she was going to sell milk in a pregnant state, when she suffered childbirth on the way and gave birth to the son of a tree.
After some time, the woman noticed that if milk is not sold on time, she can get spoiled. Thinking this, she put the newborn baby under the tree and went to the village to sell milk.
– On that day there was a fast of Halchath, in which cow’s milk is prohibited, but still the woman lying and sold cow’s milk as buffalo. His newborn died by doing so.
– When the woman returned and found her baby dead, she realized her mistake. He apologized to Chhath Mata, causing his son to revive. Therefore, this fast is observed for the long life of the son.
