HAL doing remarkable work in India: Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL), a unit under the Ministry of Defence, is doing remarkable work in India.

He said he had come to Lucknow after inaugurating a 4.5-generation fighter plane, developed by the HAL, in Nashik at an event two days ago.

The defence minister on Sunday inaugurated a community center constructed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) using HAL’s CSR funds in Sector F of the Jankipuram Scheme and the library constructed in Sector 6.

During a programme organized by the Lucknow Development Authority, he virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for the bronze statues of Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee installed at Atal Square in the Jankipuram Extension Scheme and the bronze statues of former president and renowned scientist Dr. A PJ Abdul Kalam installed at Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Square, as well as the installation of 1,250 solar street lights and 250 open gyms. All the work is being funded through HAL’s CSR funds.

Rajnath Singh said that he is doing everything possible for the development of Lucknow as people here face difficulties even during public events, even during family functions, which is the reason “we have decided to build a community center in all five assembly constituencies”. The rent for these will be kept minimal so that they could be maintained. A library is also being inaugurated. “Around 300 open gyms have already been inaugurated on Lucknow, and today I am laying the foundation stone for 250 more while 1,250 solar lights have been installed in Lucknow,” he added.

He said the first flyover was built in April, after which 14 have been completed, 11 more are approved, and an underpass is also being constructed at Awadh Square. “Funds have also been approved for running a circular train around Lucknow, and survey work is underway,” he said while explaining that,”Whether I am an MP or not, my commitment to development will remain intact”.

He further said that all the infrastructure development taking place in Lucknow is being accomplished with the blessings of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Lalji Tandon has also played an important role in Lucknow’s development. “I am constantly striving to ensure that Lucknow has air connectivity to most countries in the world. The Mayor should work to ensure that Lucknow ranks first in terms of cleanliness. Our Lucknow is rapidly progressing on the path of development and is among the top 10 cities in the world, but I am not satisfied with this; I want Lucknow to be number one,” he announced.

Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak said that the defence minister’s presence in Lucknow this time is making the Diwali festival special. Thanks to the his grace, Lucknow is today a growing city on the world stage. All international-level facilities are available in Lucknow.

Dr. Dinesh Sharma said that Lucknow is surpassing even the country’s metropolitan cities in development. Today, Lucknow’s metro expansion and international airport are becoming its hallmarks.

Later Rajnath Singh left for Delhi after staying for 3 days in Lucknow, his parliamentary constituency.
