The much-awaited action thriller Haiwaan, the official Hindi remake of 2016’s Malayalam film Oppam, has faced tough competition at the box office since its release. The film fell flat on its first Monday (Day 4), earning less than ₹1 crore net in India.
According to Sacnilk, the Priyadarshan-directed film collected just ₹0.70 crore (₹70 lakhs) on Day 4 (First Monday) across 3,265 shows, with just 10 percent occupancy. Compared with the previous day (Day 3/First Sunday), the film saw a 62.2 percent drop—a worrying sign, given that it was a holiday weekend.
In the overseas markets too, the film is struggling. It collected just ₹0.25 crore (₹25 lakhs) on Day 4.

Verdict
Haiwaan has been a disappointment, with total net collections falling below ₹10 crore despite the festive holiday. Amid the Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur: The Movie wave, the Akshay and Saif starrer failed to hold strong.
