New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned the residents of large parts of North India as it issued a weather alert, as thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds, lightning, and rainfall are likely to hit Delhi NCR, Punjab, and Haryana in the coming hours.
Rajasthan is likely to bear the brunt of the storm between 3 pm and 8 pm, IMD reported. Later on, Haryana is to face thunderstorms with possible hailstorms and lightning with gusty winds between 4 pm and 9 pm; Punjab (5 pm to 11 pm) and Delhi (6 pm to 10 pm) are likely to witness thunderstorms with possible hailstorms and lightning with gusty winds between April 3 and 4.

The weather conditions momentarily level off on April 5 and 6, but thunderstorms are likely to resume between April 7 and 8. Officials warned the residents not to step out of their houses as strong winds ranging between 40 and 70 kmph are likely to surround parts of North India along with moderate to heavy rainfall.
