Amitabh Bachchan gave information about his Sikh heritage
On Sikh heritage, Amitabh said that when Guru Parva came last year, he had given some information to the common people on Facebook about his childhood spent in Allahabad and especially about his mother. He wrote, “Those early years spent in Allahabad, when mother used to recite in my ears the eternally sacred and divine words of Gurbani… ‘Tati Vaar Na Jawai…’ As you know, my mother was a Sikh, Teji Kaur Suri, my grandfather Sardar Khazan Singh Suri, my grandmother a Sodi, and whose family, her brothers and my maternal uncle were the managers of the Anantapur Sahib Gurdwara…”
