It has been five years since the release of Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. To mark the milestone, director Sharan Sharma penned a heartfelt note on social media.
Inspired by the incredible journey of Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena, the film premiered in August 2020 on an OTT platform during the pandemic and was widely praised, especially for its performances.

Sharing a photo of Janhvi Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi, Sharan Sharma wrote, “5 years of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl… a story that will always be close to my heart. I look back with happy memories… innocent times… A hardworking, sincere cast and crew came together without ego, united by passion. It almost felt like making a student film. Supported by producers who truly believed in us… Forever grateful to everyone who was part of this journey.” Janhvi Kapoor also reshared the post, with fans calling the film one of her best.

Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming project – Param Sundari
Janhvi Kapoor will next be seen in the romantic drama Param Sundari alongside Sidharth Malhotra, set for release on August 29. Directed by Tushar Jalota and backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the film is described as a vibrant and romantic celebration of cultural chaos, set in the heart of Kerala.
