Ahead of the ILT20 Season 5 auction, Gulf Giants have made significant pre-auction signings by adding South African stars David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen to their roster.
The franchise has welcomed these experienced cricketers as they prepare for the upcoming tournament in Dubai.
Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai and Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani are also set to return for the new season. The fifth season of the ILT20 is scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 20.
All four players have proven their capabilities in batting, fast bowling, and all-rounder roles. After winning the inaugural season of the tournament in 2023, the Adani Sportsline franchise aims to secure their second DP World ILT20 title.
On signing these players, Gulf Giants’ head coach Simon Helmot expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome David and Heinrich to the Gulf Giants family and to have Azmatullah and Muzarabani returning. They are world-class players and match-winners who will strengthen our team. We have laid a strong foundation, and the player auction gives us another opportunity to complete our squad as we prepare for Season 5.”
Miller, one of the best finishers in world cricket, brings a wealth of experience, having played 571 T20 matches and scored over 12,000 runs in international and franchise cricket. He played a crucial role in Gujarat Titans’ IPL title-winning campaign in 2022.
Klaasen, a formidable wicketkeeper-batsman, has also made a name for himself, amassing over 6,900 runs in 294 T20 matches. He will make his debut in the DP World ILT20 during Season 5.
Omarzai made a strong impression in his debut season with Gulf Giants, scoring 233 runs and taking 12 wickets across 10 matches, earning him a chance to return for Season 5.
Muzarabani missed the previous season due to injury but is now making his comeback. Since joining Gulf Giants in 2023, the Zimbabwean fast bowler has taken 22 wickets in 17 matches, including 16 wickets in 10 matches during the 2024-25 season, the highest in the team.
The Gulf Giants are now focused on the DP World ILT20 Season 5 player auction, set to take place in October, as they finalize their squad for the new season.
