A major decision has been taken in the high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gujarat. In areas where city gas distribution network is available, hotels, restaurants, educational and social institutions will be given instant PNG gas connections on demand. There is sufficient stock of natural gas for domestic use in the state.
Gandhinagar. A high-level meeting was held in Gandhinagar on Friday regarding the current status of supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and petroleum products in Gujarat. This meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. In the meeting, availability of natural gas in the state, distribution system and future needs were discussed in detail. The government took several important decisions to further ease the gas supply.
Hotels, restaurants and institutions will get PNG connection immediately
Taking an important decision in the meeting, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that in the areas of the state where pipeline gas distribution facility is available under the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network, if hotels, restaurants, educational institutions and socio-religious institutions apply for new PNG connections as per their need, then they will be provided connections immediately. This decision will provide better energy facilities to business institutions and social organizations in the state and promote the use of clean fuel.
Adequate natural gas available for domestic consumers
Reviewing the current status of natural gas supply in the meeting, officials informed that the supply of PNG gas through pipeline for domestic use in Gujarat is continuing regularly. Along with this, it was also told that at present there is sufficient stock of natural gas available in the state, due to which consumers will not have to face any kind of shortage.
Review conducted in presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, Energy Minister Hrishikesh Patel and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ramanbhai Solanki were also present in this high level meeting. In the meeting, measures to strengthen the gas distribution system in the state and further improve gas supply to the citizens were discussed.
Senior officials also participated in the meeting
Many senior officials of the state government also participated in this important review meeting. In the meeting, Chief Secretary M.K. Das, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Additional Chief Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies Department Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary of Energy and Petrochemicals Department Ashwini Kumar and Managing Director of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Avantika Singh were present.
Apart from this, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Vikrant Pandey and many other senior officials were also present in the meeting. The government aims to promote the use of clean energy in the state and further strengthen the gas distribution system.
