Gandhinagar. Bhupendra Patel has described Gujarat’s budget for the year 2026-27 as realizing the vision of trust-based governance and human-centric economic structure. Welcoming the budget presented in the Assembly by Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, the Chief Minister said that this budget is based on five strong pillars like social security, human resource development, infrastructure, economic development and green growth.

Development-oriented budget as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The Chief Minister said that the Central Government under the leadership of Narendra Modi has recently presented a reformist budget based on three duties. The state of Gujarat is continuously moving towards development to realize every resolution of the Prime Minister. He said that this budget has been presented with unshakable confidence and commitment for continuous development.

Budget of Rs 4.08 lakh crore, without new tax burden

The budget of Gujarat for the year 2026-27 is Rs 4 lakh 8 thousand crores. This is 10.2 percent more than last year. The Chief Minister clarified that no new tax has been imposed on any citizen in this budget. This budget is going to take the development journey of the state forward with the belief of public welfare. 65 percent of the total budget has been earmarked for development-oriented spending.

Special focus on education, youth and skill development

20 percent of the total budget, i.e. an amount of more than Rs 64 thousand crore, has been allocated for education, sports, art and culture. A provision of Rs 226 crore has been made for ‘NaMo Gujarat Skills and Employment Mission’ with the aim of making the youth of the state educated, skilled and future ready.

Health, Social Services and Agricultural Development

19 percent of the budget has been allocated for health and social services. 11 percent of the budget has been kept for agriculture, irrigation, water management and urban development. The Chief Minister said that this is going to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

Big investment in capital expenditure and infrastructure

This year, 39 percent amount has been earmarked for capital expenditure, which has been possible due to better financial management. An investment of Rs 800 crore will be made in the Gujarat High-Speed ​​Corridor with the aim of creating future-ready infrastructure in the state. A provision of Rs 600 crore has been made for climate resilient and new technology based roads.

Green Budget and Sustainable Development

Keeping in mind the Prime Minister’s green growth vision, this year an amount of more than Rs 15 thousand crore has been allocated under the Green Budget.

Gujarat tourism year 2026 and provision of Rs 6500 crore

The Chief Minister said that today Gujarat has created its own identity on the global tourism map. The year 2026 has been declared as ‘Gujarat Tourism Year’ and a provision of Rs 6500 crore has been made for it.

More than Rs 35 thousand crore amount for tribal development

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, an amount of more than Rs 35 thousand crore has been allocated for the development of tribal areas. Lift irrigation scheme will be implemented in 51,480 hectare area in 18 tehsils of four tribal districts. Five new GIDC industrial areas will be set up to provide employment to tribal youth.

Commonwealth Games and Olympic Ready Ahmedabad

The Chief Minister said that due to the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Ahmedabad has got the opportunity to host the Commonwealth Games. A provision of more than Rs 1200 crore has been made for sports infrastructure and modern transport facilities for Olympic Ready Ahmedabad.

AI, Digital Governance and Future Ready Gujarat

The Chief Minister said that this is the era of AI and Deep Tech. An amount of over Rs 850 crore has been allocated to make Gujarat a leader in digital governance and AI. Establishment of Data Fusion Center and Center of Excellence has also been announced.

Steps towards developed Gujarat 2047

The state government has prepared 6 Regional Economic Master Plans for balanced economic development. A provision of about Rs 7 thousand crores has been made for this. The Chief Minister said that this budget is such an all-inclusive budget that every Gujarati can be proud of.
