GST 2.0: Price Cut Of All Cars Under The Updated GST

The government’s updated GST reform, effective from September 22, is set to lower car prices across all major brands. Since the announcement on September 3, manufacturers such as Tata, Toyota, Hyundai, Skoda, Mahindra, Nissan, Renault, MG Motor, and Kia have confirmed that they will pass on the benefits to buyers.

This means substantial savings, from a few tens of thousands to several lakhs, depending on the model and segment.

Renault: Price Drop Up To Rs 96k

Renault’s entire lineup will see GST benefits. The Kwid hatchback will be cheaper by up to Rs 55,095, while the Triber MPV will get a price cut of up to Rs 80,195. The Kiger compact SUV receives the largest reduction of nearly Rs 96,395. Post-GST 2.0, Renault’s starting prices will become even more competitive, with the Kwid at Rs 4.30 lakh, Triber at Rs 5.76 lakh, and Kiger also beginning from Rs 5.76 lakh.

Nissan: Price Drop Up To Rs 1 Lakh

Nissan is offering GST benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh on its Magnite compact SUV. The maximum savings will be on the higher-spec Tekna and Tekna+ variants, while the entry-level Visia trim will now start at just Rs 5.62 lakh.

Mahindra: Price Drop Up To Rs 1.45 Lakh

Mahindra has confirmed that all its SUVs will be cheaper by over Rs 1 lakh. The XUV 3XO diesel variants will see the biggest price reduction of up to Rs 1.56 lakh. The Thar and Scorpio Classic models will get a reduction of around Rs 1.01 lakh. Other popular SUVs such as the Scorpio N, XUV700 and Thar Roxx will benefit from price drops in the range of Rs 1.33 lakh to Rs 1.45 lakh.

Tata: Price Drop Up To Rs 1.55 Lakh

Tata Motors has confirmed substantial cuts across its passenger car range. The Tiago, Tigor and Punch will be cheaper by Rs 75,000 to Rs 85,000. The Altroz premium hatchback will see a cut of up to Rs 1.1 lakh. The Nexon, Tata’s best-selling SUV, benefits the most with a price reduction of up to Rs 1.55 lakh. Meanwhile, larger models like the Harrier and Safari will be cheaper by Rs 1.4 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh respectively. The Curvv, however, gets the smallest reduction in the lineup at just Rs 65,000.

Hyundai: Price Drop Up To Rs 2.4 Lakh

Hyundai’s lineup of nine ICE models will all see reductions in price. The popular Creta will be cheaper by up to Rs 72,145, while the Venue will drop by more than Rs 1.2 lakh. The Tucson, Hyundai’s flagship SUV, will see the biggest price cut of up to Rs 2.4 lakh, whereas the Verna sedan has the smallest reduction, at around Rs 60,640.

MG Motor: Price Drop Up To Rs 3.04 Lakh

MG Motor’s ICE range also becomes more accessible. The entry-level Astor will now be cheaper by Rs 54,000, while the Hector and Hector Plus will see reductions of up to Rs 1.49 lakh. The flagship Gloster SUV, however, gets the biggest benefit with a massive price drop of Rs 3.04 lakh, making it significantly more attractive for premium SUV buyers.

Skoda: Price Drop Up To Rs 3.3 Lakh

Skoda has announced limited price reductions across its lineup. The Slavia sedan will see a cut of up to Rs 63,000, while the Kushaq SUV gets a drop of up to Rs 60,000. The full-size Kodiaq SUV, however, benefits from a significant reduction of up to Rs 3.3 lakh, making it one of the biggest beneficiaries in its segment. Prices for the compact Kylaq SUV are yet to be revealed.

Toyota: Price Drop Up To Rs 3.49 Lakh

Toyota’s popular rebadged Maruti models like the Rumion and Hyryder will see modest reductions of around Rs 48,700 and Rs 65,400. The Glanza will become more affordable by up to Rs 85,300, while the Taisor gets a larger cut of Rs 1.11 lakh.

On the premium side, the Innova Crysta will be cheaper by up to Rs 1.81 lakh, and the Innova Hycross by Rs 1.16 lakh. The biggest reductions come on Toyota’s flagship models: the Fortuner drops by Rs 3.49 lakh, the Hilux pickup by Rs 2.53 lakh, and the luxury Vellfire MPV by a massive Rs 2.78 lakh. Even the Camry sees a cut of just over Rs 1 lakh.

Kia: Price Drop Up To Rs 4.49 Lakh

Kia’s SUVs and MPVs also benefit heavily from GST 2.0. The Sonet will be cheaper by up to Rs 1.64 lakh, while the newly introduced Syros sees a cut of up to Rs 1.86 lakh. The popular Seltos SUV becomes more affordable by about Rs 75,000. The Carens and Carens Clavis MPVs will see reductions of up to Rs 48,513 and Rs 78,674 respectively. The Carnival, Kia’s luxury MPV, enjoys the largest drop in the brand’s portfolio with a staggering reduction of Rs 4.49 lakh.
