Opposition to Trump’s tariffs
On Saturday, Trump announced a 10% tariff on goods coming from Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK starting February 1, 2026. He warned that if no deal was reached on Greenland, the tariffs could rise to 25% from June 1. Trump stressed that the Danish area is vital to US security and did not completely rule out the option of using force. The announcement of this tariff further increased diplomatic tensions between Europe and the United States.
