National green hydrogen mission
India is now moving fast in the Green Hydrogen sector and in the coming time it is being considered as the global leader of the region. Dave Ernsberger, a co -residant of S&P Global Commodity Insights, said that India’s special focus on Green Hydrogen and moving steps towards clean energy is really commendable.
Praise of India’s achievements
Arnsbarger said, India’s journey to increase hydrogen capacity, taking leadership in global hydrogen industry and especially focusing on green hydrogen is very effective. He also informed that India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission will contribute not only to the country but the whole world to grow clean energy and energy towards self -sufficiency.
National green hydrogen mission
The Union Cabinet approved this mission on 4 January 2023. A budget of Rs 19,744 crore has been fixed for this. Its aim is to create a global hub for the production, use and export of Green Hydrogen and related products to India. The government aims to produce 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen by the year 2030.
India has strong infrastructure
According to Arnsberger, India has sufficient renewable energy resources and strong industrial structure. This is the reason that India will not only be able to fulfill domestic demand in the coming years but can also become a big exporter of green hydrogen.
Public and private sector partnership required
He emphasized that collaboration will be important in furthering this sector. If all partners associated with the government, private companies, traders and supply chains work together, then India can progress rapidly in the green hydrogen industry.
Start-ups will get support
The Government of India has recently launched a new scheme in this direction, taking a big step. On 11 September, Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Prahlad Joshi inaugurated the first Green Hydrogen R&D conference in Delhi. A funding scheme of Rs 100 crore was announced on this occasion, under which start-ups will be helped for innovation in hydrogen technology. Each project will be given assistance of up to Rs 5 crore at the pilot level. At the conference, 25 start-ups showed their projects, including technology such as Electrological Manufacturing, AI-based optimization and biological hydrogen solutions.
