Coriander is an aromatic herb which is the heart of spicy dishes prepared in Indian homes. Be it summer or winter, people add it to many types of dishes including curry. The best thing is that it grows fast and can be easily grown at home, but growing coriander in the summer season becomes a bit challenging. Actually, when the temperature increases, its delicate leaves start withering, but if some small things are kept in mind, then green coriander will remain blooming in the beds and pots of your house even during the summer season and you can use it absolutely fresh in food.
The best thing about growing coriander at home is that this plant is ready to harvest in a few weeks and hence you can immediately pluck it fresh every time and add it to vegetables or any dish. The aroma of fresh coriander is even stronger, hence the taste becomes better. Let us know the tips to grow coriander in summer season.
sow seeds densely
It is advisable to sow the seeds of any plant at small distances so that when the plant grows, its roots and stem can get space to spread. This is not the case with coriander. If you are planting its seeds then there is no need to sow at long distances. The simple way is to sow coriander seeds thickly in the beds. Actually, when the leaves start emerging from it, they cover the soil, this helps in maintaining moisture and coolness in the soil, due to which it is able to survive in the heat.
sow again and again
Keep in mind that after planting coriander once, you cannot harvest it for the whole season and especially in summer, this trick is good that you keep sowing the seeds again and again, due to which new coriander keeps growing and you can harvest it. You just have to sow new seeds every 23 weeks.

keep watering regularly
Coriander is a plant that likes constant moisture, so keep watering it regularly every day. The soil has to be kept so wet that it remains like a squeezed sponge. If the soil remains dry, your coriander plant will either start drying up or flowers will start coming and once the seeds start forming, its leaves will no longer have any taste. Always apply water directly to the roots and only lightly spray the leaves.
Soil mulching is most important
If you want to keep coriander green during the summer season, soil mulching is necessary. In fact, the soil dries quickly in strong sunlight and mulching works to retain moisture. For this, cover the soil of the pots or beds with things like dry leaves, straw, compost from time to time. This has two benefits. Firstly, moisture remains in the soil despite sunlight and secondly, all these things decompose in the soil itself, which becomes fertilizer for the plants.
Regular harvesting is important
It is important to keep harvesting the coriander plant regularly. In fact, this allows the plant to focus on growing new leaves instead of growing directly in length. If you do not cut the leaves on time, then this coriander starts growing straight and flowers start appearing in it. When the plant is approximately 5 to 6 inches tall, it should be cut from the top.
These things are not garbage in the house, its manure will make the plants laden with flowers and fruits.
can put up a shed
If you are sowing coriander in the beds, then plant such plants around it which will grow and provide shade to it or you can use a light shade so that the coriander leaves get sunlight for a few hours and shade for a few hours. This plant survives in medium temperature. If coriander is grown in a pot, then you can keep it at a place where there is not too much direct sunlight.
