Satyendar jain pwd hiring case: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister Satyendra Jain got a big legal relief in Delhi politics on Monday. Special Judge of Rowz Avenue Court Dig Vinay Singh ordered a much talked about corruption case to be closed in which the CBI had been investigating for four years. There was no evidence of corruption against Satyendra Jain in the CBI report.
Fulstop on CBI’s four -year long investigation
This case in 2019 CBI v. The name of Satyendar Jain & Others was recorded in which there were allegations of irregularity on the recruitment process of 17 consultants under the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Delhi Government. The complaint came from the Vigilance Department and alleged that Satyendra Jain outsourced the recruitment process by keeping the rules on hold. However, after a detailed four -year detailed investigation, the CBI in its closure report clarified that the recruitment process was transparent, competitive and completely justified given the immediate needs of the department. Neither got any personal benefit, nor indicated a conspiracy. The CBI said in its report that the recruitment process was in line with the immediate requirements of the department and was openly done. There was no partisan or illegal activity found in it.
What did Delhi High Court say?
Judge Dig Vinay Singh said in his judgment that no evidence was found that proved that these appointments were made with any criminal intention. Indian law cannot make anyone an accused on the basis of doubt only. He also added that if any new evidence comes up in future, the CBI will be allowed to reopen the case.
