Hyderabad LPG Cylinder Black Marketing: Major black marketing of LPG gas cylinders has been revealed from the cemetery in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The police raided and seized 414 cylinders and 11 vehicles, while 10 accused were arrested.
A shocking case of black marketing of LPG gas cylinders has come to light in Hyderabad. A graveyard in Banjara Hills, a posh area of the city, was turned into an illegal gas warehouse. When the police raided here, hundreds of gas cylinders were recovered from inside. As soon as this entire racket was exposed, there was a sensation in the area. Police have arrested 10 people in this case. It is alleged that these people were illegally storing gas cylinders and selling them to customers at prices higher than the market.

Jubilee Hills Task Force team had received information that a large quantity of LPG cylinders were being stored in a graveyard in Banjara Hills area. After this the team conducted a raid along with Banjara Hills Police. During the raid, the police arrested 10 people from the spot. Investigation revealed that the accused were black marketing gas cylinders for a long time.

414 gas cylinders recovered
Police have recovered a total of 414 gas cylinders from the accused. These include both domestic and commercial cylinders. The details of the seized cylinders are as follows:
- Filled cylinders of 47 kg – 30
- 19 kg filled cylinders – 148
- 19 kg empty cylinders – 192
- 5 kg filled cylinders – 35
- Empty 5 kg cylinders – 9
According to the police, the total value of the seized cylinders is around Rs 21.88 lakh.
The main accused used to run a gas agency
Mohammad Aamir is said to be the main accused in this case. He runs an agency named “Metro Gas Agency” in Mamdipalli village of Shamshabad. The head office of this agency is located in Afzalganj area of Hyderabad.
Investigation revealed that Aamir, along with his associates, used to deposit gas cylinders in the cemetery located near Nagarjuna intersection in Banjara Hills. Later these were sold to needy customers at higher prices.
According to DCP Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad of Hyderabad City Police, 11 vehicles have also been seized from the accused. These include two DCMs, two Boleros, one Tata ACE, one Tata Magic and other vehicles. Police say that these vehicles were used to transport gas cylinders from one place to another.
The police are now investigating this entire network in depth. Officials suspect that more people may be involved in this gas black marketing racket. At present, the interrogation of the arrested accused is going on and the police is trying to find out from where these gas cylinders were brought and at which places they were being sold.
