Government employees involved in RSS march suspended, huge uproar in Karnataka politics

A government official has been suspended for participating in an RSS march in Karnataka. The government has called it a violation of service rules demanding political impartiality. BJP has opposed this action and called it misuse of government machinery.

Bengaluru: The atmosphere against RSS is becoming tough in Karnataka. After the Congress government brought a law to ban RSS activities in public places, now a government employee has been suspended for participating in an RSS program. Panchayat Development Officer Praveen Kumar K.P. On Friday, he was suspended by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department for participating in the centenary program of RSS.

Praveen Kumar took part in the RSS route march held in Lingsugur on October 12, wearing RSS uniform and carrying a stick in his hand. It has been stated in the suspension order that this step is a violation of service conduct rules. A departmental inquiry has also been ordered into this matter. The order said the officer violated Rule 3 of the Karnataka Civil Services Rules, 2021, which directs government servants to be politically impartial and maintain the dignity of their office. His action is against the behavior expected from a public servant.

BJP has come into the field against this action. Criticizing the Congress, Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa said that this suspension is a misuse of the government machinery. He said, “This shows the anti-Hindu mentality of the Karnataka Congress Party. They have started misusing the government machinery. We know how to bring it back on the right track. The suspension should be immediately withdrawn. Otherwise, we will give an appropriate response through constitutional means within the democratic system to oppose this divisive politics.”
