2020 elections: Gopal Mandal becomes MLA for the fourth time

JDU candidate Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal won a big victory in the 2020 assembly elections. He got 75,533 votes, while his main rival RJD’s Shailesh Kumar got 51,072 votes. The victory margin was 24,461 votes. At the same time, LJP candidate Suresh Bhagat also made the contest triangular by taking 23,406 votes. This result once again proved that Gopal Mandal has a strong hold in Gopalpur.

Note: Three criminal cases are registered against Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal. He has studied till graduation. His total movable and immovable assets are Rs 1.73 crore. There is no loan against him.

2015 election: BJP defeated

In 2015, when JDU and BJP were contesting elections separately, Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal defeated BJP candidate Anil Kumar Yadav. He got 57,403 votes, while the BJP candidate got 52,234 votes. The victory margin here was only 5,169 votes, which made the contest very exciting.

2010 elections: Gopal Mandal prevails over RJD

In the 2010 assembly elections, Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal defeated RJD candidate Amit Rana. JDU candidate Gopal Mandal got 53,876 votes, while RJD candidate got 28,816 votes. The margin of victory in this election was about 25,060 votes. This result clearly shows that the influence of JDU was continuously increasing in Gopalpur Assembly since that time.
