According to the information given by the Andhra Pradesh government, the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) headed by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday announced the approval of Google’s historic Hipersscale data center in Visakhapatnam. This is an investment of about $ 10 billion. It is one of the largest digital infrastructure FDI in India.
1,88,220 people will get work
According to independent evaluation of Access Partnership (2025) and Economic Modeling by Google, the GSDP is estimated to contribute annually to an average of Rs 10,518 crore annually during the first five years (2028-2032) of the operation from this project. Also, this will create about 1,88,220 direct and indirect jobs every year in areas such as construction, data center operations, engineering, IT and supply chains.
In addition to direct operation, the productivity-based effect of Google Cloud is expected to add Rs 9,553 crore annually (Rs 47,720 crore in five years) through digital mediums in the economy. At the national level, a similar digital infrastructure hub is expected to produce a value edition of $ 2.1 trillion and 1 crore jobs by 2047. SIPB has considered this project as a game-changer for Andhra Pradesh’s IT Ecosystem and has approved the installation of Visakhapatnam as “AI City Wijag”.

Google’s data center will serve as a foundation stone for the modern economic infrastructure. This will speed up AI, cloud computing, IOT, 5G and e-governance platforms. This is also expected to promote supportive areas like electricity, fiber optics, real estate and telecom. In addition, road, electricity and fiber connectivity will improve. After the incentive phase, the state’s revenue will increase through SGST, electricity fee and property tax.
