A big step has been taken towards further improving the public transport system in Uttar Pradesh. Now air conditioned electric buses (AC E-Bus) will run on Moradabad to Delhi and Meerut routes. Passengers will get the facility of an e-bus every hour, which will make the journey not only comfortable but also environment friendly.
7 e-buses reached Moradabad depot, 13 more will arrive soon
At present seven new AC electric buses have reached Moradabad depot. According to the Transport Corporation, a total of 20 buses are planned to operate on this route. The remaining 13 buses will reach the depot in the next few days. Almost all preparations for operation have been completed. According to Gajendra Singh, senior foreman of the depot, “Registration of buses will be completed in the next two days, after which operations will be started.”

State-of-the-art facilities in every bus
Each bus is fitted with 40 comfortable seats, four CCTV cameras and security sensors. The shocker system of the buses is designed in such a way that road shocks are felt less. These buses will run at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour and will take passengers to Delhi in less than three hours.
Joya, Garh, Hapur bypass and Ghaziabad will be stoppages.
E-buses going from Moradabad to Delhi will stop at Joya, Garh, Hapur Bypass and Ghaziabad on the way. However, the fare rates are yet to be determined. It is expected that the fare will be within the reach of common passengers, so that more and more people can take advantage of this new facility.
Charging station being prepared in Pitalnagar depot
To charge e-buses, a charging station has been prepared at Pitalnagar depot in Moradabad, while two more stations are being built. A total of eight charging points are to be installed. Once fully charged, the buses will be able to travel a distance of approximately 350 kilometers. ARM Finance BL Mishra said, “The buses are ready, but the charging stations are not fully operational. In four days, the team of Switch Mobility Company will complete the remaining technical work.”
Driver and conductor will be given training
Before operating AC e-buses, special training will be given to all drivers and operators so that there is no problem in technical operation. The department plans to check the availability of charging facilities in the surrounding districts before operation, so that passengers can get uninterrupted service.
Big step towards comfortable travel with environment
With the operation of e-buses, passengers will get comfortable and modern transportation facilities and environmental pollution will also be reduced. This scheme will give impetus to the Green UP – Clean UP mission of the state government.
