The country’s largest airline IndiGo has achieved another major achievement! Now a daily flight between Kolkata and Hindan Airport in Ghaziabad has started. Due to this new facility, it has become easier to reach Delhi-NCR region from Kolkata in the morning.
According to the news, Indigo’s new flight number 6E 2588 will now fly from Kolkata to Hindindan every day. This flight will take off from Kolkata at 5:50 am and will land at Hindan Airport at 8:00 am. At the same time, if you want to return to Kolkata from Hindan, then the flight flying from Hindindan will take you to Kolkata by 11:00 am.
The timing of this flight has been decided in such a way that the passengers will neither have trouble getting up in the morning nor the inconvenience of late night. Whether it is a business trip or a family vacation, this flight can prove to be extremely convenient for travelers.
IndiGo dominance in NCR
IndiGo has now made Hindindan Airport its second big hub to further strengthen its presence in the Delhi-NCR region. After Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Hindan has now become an important center of IndiGo in NCR.
Not only Kolkata, IndiGo has also connected Hindindar Airport to major cities of the country like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Indore, Mumbai, Patna and Varanasi. This means that now the passengers are getting the facility of direct flights from Hindan Airport in Ghaziabad, avoiding the congestion of Delhi Airport.
According to Indigo’s plan, around 70 flights will be operated from Hindinda every week, which will provide the facility to catch the flight from near their house.
Small cities got new flight from Udan Scheme
The Hindindan Airport has been developed under the central government’s ambitious UDAN (common citizen of the country) scheme. The objective of this scheme is to connect small cities and towns of the country to large metro cities, so that air travel can be made accessible and economical to the general public.
The new direct flight started from Kolkata to Hindan Airport will now provide direct benefits to millions of people from Ghaziabad, Noida, East and Central Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh. Now the passengers will not have to go to the busy Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, they will be able to fly from near their home.
Air India Express is also providing service
IndiGo is not the only airline that is making Hindan Airport a part of its strategy. Air India Express has also stepped into this direction. From March 1 this year, the airline introduced direct flights from Kolkata to Hindan Airport.
Apart from this, Air India Express is currently serving from Hindindan to major cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa and Jammu. The airline is operating around 40 flights from Hindan Airport every week, giving passengers getting even better connectivity options in the NCR region.
