Maharashtra government has given a big gift to its government employees and pensioners before Holi and Gudi Padwa. State Minister of State for Finance Ashish Jaiswal told in the Assembly that Dearness Allowance (DA) has been increased by 3 percent to 58 percent from July 2025. Earlier it was 55 percent. The government has made it clear that the increased DA will be given to the employees in cash from this month itself. This means that there will be an immediate increase in the salary of the employees. This will directly benefit about 5.16 lakh government employees and about 8.72 lakh pensioners of the state.

The government has also clarified the situation regarding arrears. The outstanding money from July 2025 to October 2025 will be given on the occasion of Gudi Padwa in March 2026. At the same time, separate orders will be issued for payment of arrears from November 2025 to January 2026. This will provide additional financial relief to the employees during the festival season.

Before this, Kerala government has also given relief to its employees. The state government has approved a 10 percent increase in dearness allowance. Now DA there has increased from 25 percent to 35 percent. This increased DA will be added to the salary for the month of March.
