Golmaal 5 is going to bring a lot of surprises, more than fans could expect. On Rohit Shetty’s birthday on March 14, the director announced that the next installment has gone on floors with a special behind-the-scenes video that’s loaded with its signature fun and laughter.
While Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu return, the striking thing is rjoining the cast. Infact he was welcomed in the video in the best possible manner leaving audience anticipating. Sharman Joshi also makes a surprise return to the franchise. The fifth part marks Rohit Shetty’s return to filmmaking after the recent outside his Mumbai home, that hogged headlines for several days.
Golmaal 5 loaded with surprises
The BTS video begins with a shot of the signature muti-seater bike, an integral part of the Golmaal films. As the cast reunites and recalls how it’s been 20 years of the franchise, Sharma Joshi enters leaving everyone shocked. The actor appeared in the first movie Golmaal: Fun Unlimited released in 2006, but kept away from the following sequels. As Rohit’s voice confirms Golmaal 5, Ajay Devgn claims there’s a bigger surprise, making way for Akshay Kumar who walks in. He’s dressed in the get-up of a tantrik, sporting a bald. Ajay welcomes him and utters “koi franchise nahi chhodta hai.”
Rohit Shetty on 20 years of Golmaal franchise
In his caption on Instagram, Rohit Shetty wrote, “20 years ago, the first Golmaal was released, a film that changed my life. The credit goes to you, my audience. Over the past 20 years, we have entertained you, and yes, sometimes disappointed you, but we have always been honest in our work. So now, once again, my fabulous team and I are set on a journey to entertain you as we start filming G5. You have always loved and supported me. All we need is your blessings.

Akshay wishes Rohit, expresses happiness to join cast
Akshay also posted the video on his social media handles and wished Rohit. “Happy Birthday Rohit. On your birthday, the madness just got bigger and louder. Excited to be joining this crazy family of Golmaal 5! Let the chaos begin!” he wrote.
Though more details of the remaining cast, plot or release date are yet to be confirmed, Golmaal 5 promises to be the biggest movie of the franchise to date.

Golmaal series first kicked of in 2006, and followed it up with sequels: Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and Golmaal Again (2017). All the films starred Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee and Mukesh Tiwari. While Shreyas Talpade appeared in three, Kunal Kemmu and Johnny Lever did two.
The actresses associated with the franchise include Kareena Kapoor Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Rimi Sen, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sushmita Mukherjee, and more.
The series also has a spin-off named Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh. Reacting to Golmaal 5, Dhurandhar star Ranveer commented on Rohit’s Instagram post, “MAZZEDAAAAAAAR!!!!”
