‘Go eat s**t’: Amaal Malik clarifies he didn’t name Sushant Singh Rajput, Kartik Aaryan to ‘glorify gossip’: ‘Stop being so dumb’

Indian music director and singer Amaal Malik has now lashed out at gossipmongers and media outlets reported his remark on Kartik Aaryan being ‘sidelined’ in Bollywood.

While speaking to Mirchi Plus, Amaal drew parallels between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor and late artiste Sushant Singh Rajput, alleging that Kartik is also being ignored by Bollywood biggies. After his statement went viral, Amaal on his X, slammed people for stating that he named Kartik and Sushant for the limelight. Amaal, with strong words, criticised media outlets which only picked a selective portion of his conversation, and called them ‘dumb and insensitive’.

On X, Amaal wrote, “Speaking about #SushantSinghRajput or #KartikAaryan won’t help me get anywhere, so anyone who thinks I named them to get attention should go eat.” Amaal further stated that in the interview, he even mentioned Arijit Singh, the politics of the music industry, spoke about Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s Ramayana. But they chose to ignore it. “That you won’t write about because you still want to glorify some gossip. In the most honest way possible, I’ve done my bit to explain why the movie business is the way it is “musically” and “cinematically.”

Amaal slammed media outlets to be sensible and sensitive before reporting someone’s quotes. “Random headline banake apne portal ko promote karna hai bas. Indian Media, please grow up and stop being crude, dumb & insensitive to people’s thoughts (You just have to promote your portal by making random headlines. Indian Media, please grow up and stop being crude, dumb & insensitive to people’s thoughts).”

What did Amaal Malik say about Kartik Aaryan?

In the viral interview, Amaal said that Kartik, much like Sushant, is a self-made talent confronting similar ‘power plays.’ He went on to allege that as many as 100 people are working to pull him down. He said, “Even he has 100 people trying to bring him down.” Though Amaal’s statement has raised the issue of groupism and nepotism again, Amaal has set the records straight about not nitpicking a statement and using it as a sensation.
