Not only this, she was also pressured to have illicit relations with her father-in-law and Nandoi.
In Babu Purwa police station area, a woman named Mehak Khan has lodged an FIR under serious sections against 7 people including husband Shah Fahed alias Pintu, mother-in-law Baby Nisha, sister-in-law Nargis, Sabina, Mantasha and Nandoi Siroj Ansari on charges of dowry, sexual harassment, gender testing and forced abortion. Mehak Khan was married to Shah Fahed, resident of Babupurwa, in 2021.
Aborted twice when she was pregnant with a girl.
According to the FIR, within a few months of the marriage, the husband and in-laws started demanding lakhs of rupees and a car for the business. Due to non-fulfillment of demands, Mehak Khan started being beaten regularly.
The victim alleges that the harassment from her in-laws increased after the birth of her first daughter. When she became pregnant again, her in-laws took her to a hospital in Naubasta. There, after getting an ultrasound (gender test) done, it was revealed that the pregnancy was a girl, so she was forcibly aborted. According to the victim, this cruelty was repeated with her twice.
Pressure to establish relations with father-in-law and Nandoi
The limits of cruelty were crossed when her in-laws pressured Mehak Khan to have illicit relations with her father-in-law or Nandoi in order to have a son. The victim has also alleged that her father-in-law and Nandoi molested and misbehaved with her on several occasions. When she protested and told her husband, the husband also supported the family members.
Ultimately, the victim was thrown out of the house after being brutally beaten and threatened not to return until her dowry demands were met. After this the victim lodged a complaint with the police.
